DETAILS // WHAT TYPE OF JAMS CAN I SUBMIT?:
Monday, October 2, 2017 began our new weekly event "Massive Acoustic Monday" (now known as "Massive BYOJ") at the Massive Blind Jam Project on Facebook! As many Massive Jammers don't own an acoustic and others don't own an electric, we've opened it up to BOTH by adding the "BYOJ" (Bring Your Own Jam)... So anything goes! Join us by submitting an acoustic OR electric jam of your choosing: with or without vocals, backing track, or other instruments (even a full band!) Guitar is the base of the jam... the rest is up to you! It's basically a Virtual Open Mic! See you there!
WHEN TO UPLOAD FOR MASSIVE BYOJ:
You can upload your jam anytime and videos will remain in queue until SUNDAY EVENING (Typically between 6-7 PM E.S.T.) when we'll start releasing the jams. Feel free to contribute anytime throughout the day Monday as well up until about 9PM EST (all of our times are based on Eastern Standard Time). Upload directly to the Massive Blind Jam Project page OR if you prefer to keep track of "view counts", then upload to your Facebook or YouTube page and copy the link (see below "How to copy a video link"). Create a new post on the Massive page and paste the link in after your description.
WHAT ABOUT COVER SONGS?:
IT IS ILLEGAL TO POST COVERS ON FACEBOOK! And Facebook is working with Universal Music Group to delete your posts or in some cases YOUR ENTIRE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT! So don't take chance... YouTube has a financial arrangement with the "record company" so it IS legal to upload covers to YouTube and it IS also legal to copy your YouTube links into your Facebook posts. Again, just create a new post on the Massive page and paste the link in after your description.
CLEANING UP A POST:
NOTE: Did you know... when you create a post, once the video preview loads you can can delete the URL (website video link) and the video will remain.
It's a nice way to keep the posts clean. It's purely optional though!
HOW TO COPY A VIDEO LINK (FACEBOOK):
Generally, to copy your video video link: begin playing your video, then RIGHT click on video and select "Show Video
URL", then RIGHT click on the URL (website video link) and COPY... then create a new post on the Massive and PASTE the link in after you've typed in
your description. Alternately, you may also click "Share" (the curved arrow icon) and then select "Copy Link".... paste in new post as just described.
HOW TO COPY A VIDEO LINK (YOUTUBE):
Simply start the video playing, then RIGHT CLICK and select "COPY VIDEO URL".... Paste into your Massive post.
PURPOSE:
Where the Massive Blind Jam Project is designed to compare interpretations so we can learn and grow from the experience, Massive BYOJ is more
of an opportunity to get creative and explore or simply entertain. It's a great way to let everyone get to know you! Two very different approaches, but both designed to round us out as musicians and give us regular goals to work toward as we are driven to pick up our guitars and play!
